I have a Panasonic SC PT750 5.1 home theatre system. The system shuts down and I get an F61 error. I reset it with some help from Panasonic, but it only lasted a couple of days. I took the receiver to a service center and they found no issues. My speakers all read 4.2 to 4.4 resistance but one...it is about 7.7. Any thoughts on what is going on and how to fix it?

F61 indicates a shorted output amplifier. Not sure why the service center did not see that. It would explain the higher resistance. The only fix I know is replacing the output amp.

How can I correct F61 error?

Error F61

Check and correct the speaker cord connections. If this does not fix the problem, there is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.

Error F61 How to reset SC-HT995W system?

I'm sorry to say, but an F61 error can not be cleared by a reset. Please see the link below for an explanation of protect mode (F61 is Panasonic's version of protect). Usually the output amp pac will need to be replaced. This will cost between $75 and $100 for the part. Feel free to post any additional questions here.

SC-BT 100 Error Code f61

Had the same problem. Found that the code refers to the cooling fan. Could be that the fan is dusty or not running when the system starts up. I removed the fan with the two screws and reseated the plug. Make certain that the short, black wire (that seems to go to nothing) is securing the plug to the board.

Error Message F61

Hi guys,
just had the f61 error code on my home theatre system, now i work with samsung dvds and tv's so the background knowledge is there ( i hope), i dont know if u guys noticed the fans making a noise whenever you switched it on before the fault happened but mine were making a hell of a noise, this prompted me to have a look inside and find 2 fans both of which were very dusty, just a 10 minute clean and a 10 min reassemble and im back up and running on all channels.

Sa-ht680 service manual

The F61 indicates protect mode. There is a problem with the output stage of the amplifier section and the unit shuts down to prevent further damage. This unit will require service of the amp section. You can try to contact Panasonic for the service manual.

The output amp pac is an RSN311W64D at a cost of $95 plus shipping.
