KitchenAid Architect Series KEBC208KSS Electric Double Oven Logo

We have had nothing but problems with this oven - what a lemon!!!! We have had the computer replaced 5 times in the short time we have had this. Now, our top oven is not heating. The repair man says we need another computer but this doesn't seem to make sense to me since the bottom oven works just fine and I am able to turn on the upper oven, everything looks like it is working but there is no heat, its not even warm. Is there something else that it could be? I have read all the reviews on this model and I cannot believe that kitchenaid is not standing by its product and offering a recall!!!! It seems that this was a common problem. This is the last kitchenaid product I will own.

Absolutly could of course be the EOC (electronic oven control) since it does control both the upper and lower over. Sorry for your luck but just because a part has a high failure rate that manufacture isnt required ti issue a recall as long as thier isnt a saftey issue such as potential fire or what have ye

Can this oven come back to life? its been in storage for a year. when recently plugged in, clock lit, but bake , and other roasting commands wont. Did it disprogram itself?

most older ovens will not operate properly unless the time has been set correctly to present time.
Nothing Works, or the Oven / Range / Stovetop Works Only At Certain Times:
1.Home breaker flipped or the fuse blown?Possibly an electrical surge has flipped the breaker. Check your breaker or fuse box and replace or reset as necessary.
2.Power cord plugged in?Grab the plug and wiggle to determine a good connection.
3.Power cord damage?Damaged rubber with wires showing through or the wire is being pinched can cause issues. Electrical tape is acceptable for covering damaged wires.
4.Aclicking sound could be something wrong with a relay. Check for any loose connections around the main control board on your oven. The click you hear is a relay losing power and switching back on. If the clock resets then something is causing power interruptions to the board.
5.
6.Even a bad relay door switch will hinder your oven from operating.

If your oven has internal fuses, a wiring or component problem could have caused a fuse to blow. A blown fuse is an indication that a component has shorted or failed, and the problem will need to be corrected. Most ovens that use fuses will have an indication of the circuits that are affected by a particular fuse. If an oven fuse has blown, then you should inspect the oven element and the associated wiring to determine the cause before replacing the fuse.

I have a frigidaire oven, my wife touched the oven element with an oven mitt and blew out the main 100 amp house breaker. the oven does not work anymore but the burners are fine. should i buy a new element...

THE ELEMENT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS SHORTED BIG TIME TO TRIP 100 AMP BREAKER. I CAN'T SEE WHY A ELEMENT BEING TOUCHED WOULD DO THAT. CHECK THE WIREING TO THE ELEMENT AND MAKE SURE NOTHING ELSE HAS SHORTED TO ALSO CAUSE THIS PROBLEM, PLEASE TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST. BUT THE ELEMENT CAN BE REPLACED AND NOT THE WHOLE STOVE

Receiving F3 Code

HI, no need to replace the unit at this time. this is a Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Beeping driving me crazy

Ok, the first issue is the oven temp sensor. it is shorted. you will need to replace this device asap. Now, the second is is concerning the Self clean latch. it is not functioning and it is unable to be locked by the control(shorted). Use the procedure below to test this device.

1. If door latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Replace door switch.
4. Re-apply power.
5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.

2. If door not latched:

1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.

3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
6. If failure remains, disconnect power and replace control.
