I have a canon Pixma 4200 which is telling me
Error number 1681: More than one ink tank of the following color is installed.
" Black [8] " Use only one ink tank per color at a time.
I installed new ink tanks a couple of days ago and the printer worked for a few pages and then this problem came up. Do you think it is a faulty cartridge or something else.
Thankyou , Margaret

no number but you might need to replace all the inks otherwise in windows set the print for grey scale (black and white only) and not color and see if it prints then
Error U071 : More than one ink tank of the following color is installed. U071.
Action : Confirm that the ink tanks are installed in the appropriate positions.
The machine will not print if the wrong type of ink tank is used, or if it is installed in the incorrect position.
Be sure to install the ink tanks in the correct order. The proper arrangement from the left is Black (CLI-8BK), Black (PGI-5BK), Yellow (CLI-8Y), Magenta (CLI-8M), Cyan (CLI-8C).
your housing may be not clean try to cllean it and clean the back of the tank carfully and erinstall the tank and reset the printe4r. if not try to use the old one again and see if you get the same error
I have Canon M560 printer installed 8 months ago. I replaced the CLI 221 Magenta and CLI221 Cyan ink cartridges, won't work and got this message Error 1411. Tried repeatedly to reinstall the ink cartridges and still have this message coming back. Any solution you could offer? I would appreciate it. Thank you.

in the printer driver there is a option that whenever you install a new cartridge it has to be reset otherwise it shows the message the above you quoted. one more option is there that is change the chip of yellow cartridge and black, after doing this please whip circuits of the cartridge and printer carriage block before installing the cartridge
