Digital cameras rely on "white balance" to control total overall color accuracy as processed for the final image. Colors are greatly affected by light. For example, look at any wall in your home or office and you can easily see that shadows will make the color of the wall appear to be different shades. Sunlight has a very different effect on colors than incandescent light or florescent lights. Digital cameras start with white (the absence of color) to measure the effect of light and adjust the metering (measurement and accuracy) of all the other colors. Of course, white in a poorly lit room may appear gray or even yellow to some digital cameras. So how can you get accurate color? 1) Turn the Mode Dial to MANUAL MODE (Red camera icon with an "M") 2) Use the Arrow Down on the ENTER Button to select W/B (White Balance) 3) Press the center on the ENTER Button to select and adjust W/B (White Balance) 4) Use the Arrow Right (once), then Press and Hold the Arrow Down. Note: Continue to Press and Hold the Arrow Down. There will be a pause as you reach the bottom of the common preset conditions. Then a new "hidden" option will appear. 5) Once PRE SET appears, Press the center of the ENTER Button to select it. 6) A Special screen will appear. Point the camera direct at something WHITE, like a piece of paper, a white wall or a white shirt. Regardless of the lighting conditions, the camera will accept this "white object" as the new starting point "base of reference" or "True White". 7) Press the Shutter Button to program the new "True White" setting. 8) Press the center of the ENTER Button to accept and continue photography. These new settings will be saved as PRE SET True White conditions in Manual Photography Mode until you change the settings with another selection. This will not "go away" when the camera is turned off. These settings do not impact Auto Photography Mode.

I have a Huffy Cranbrook. I want to know what color red to get for touch up. How can I find out what the color red is?

For the touch-up take an accurate color picture of part of your frame and then match it to a nail polish color (hundreds of shades available, especially in red). For painting accessories try a hobby or craft shop.

How do I print artwork getting all the colors to render accurately, so that it looks like the original painting.

Unfortunately you screen (computer or other ) isn't calibrated.
there is software mostly pro use this, but take a picture of a flat grey placard.
using your photo program to check the gamma settings and modify them until the grey on screen matches placard ( hold placard next to monitor). Then print out grey image.
important write down the gamma settings and when you put something to print check to see if these are close.

How do i fix the color and things to make the picture on the screen look normal

First I would do a factory reset. Then I would adjust from there by eye. If you want to accurately calibrate your monitor, there are inexpensive kits you can buy to get the colors right, but to use the kit you need to know how to reset and adjust colors first.

Kodak M580 digital camera pics do not have accurate colors.

I have seen color problems on cameras that have a physical switch to change between manual settings and auto. Whenever I see the color change, I immediately look to my camera and flip the switch back to the auto position. I.e. be sure your camera is set to auto for camera settings.

I hope that helps someone.

My pictures turn red

generally this is due to your ink cartrige not having enough of the cyan or yellow to produce accurate colors. that or the print heads need to be cleaned on the cartrige. you can clean them with a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol.

if all else fails replace yoru color cartrige with a new one.

What is and how do i adjust the white balnceon my fujitsu S550 digital camers?

Adjustment is in the menu screen, you shouldn't have to go very deep as it is a frequently adjusted setting.
White Balance is how the camera interprets white depending on ambient lighting. Have you ever noticed how when you are taking pictures inside at night and all of the light comes from lamps and the flash that your pictures have a yellow look? Take a picture under flourescent lamps and the pictures look different as well? How about outside? Best true color rendition on the picture taken outside, but different than the others.
White balance is a way for the photographer to adjust the tone of the picture to accurately reproduce the true colors seen in real life in the picture. Most cameras have an automatic white balance and they usually work fairly well. But for the best results, set it manually. Your whites will be white and skin tones appear accurate.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
