Well we all know what that HD stands for(HUNDRED DOLLARS) LOL. I am assuming your bike is carburated as after 02 most went to injection. Your fuel filter is part of the intake line to your carb. You may have to remove the tank to get to it. Most harley filters are a heat temperd glass bulb with a filter inside. You said you got gas from a diffrent station, and there could be water in it. Upon inspection of your filter it will be deffinitly noticeable if there is water or moisture in your tank and or filter. I would reccomend getting a new fuel filter and plugs, and along with a bottle of harleys best carb cleaner or moisture remover.Get your self some fresh gas(HIGH OCTAIN) will work best for removing moisture. Drain your tank by removing your fuel line connected to the petcock. After empty remove cap and dump any remaining BS that may be in there. Used compressed air to blow the tank out then let it sit for a few hours to dry out any moisture, Reinstall everything and give it a hell of a ride down the highway. Hope this helps. P.s you may need carb adjustment and new air filter as well.
