Question about Olympus Camedia C-2100 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera
Is it possible to use a general (non FL40) flash light with my UZI? I am still the owner of an old good flash light I used with my analog camera bit there is no correct connection for the cable on my new digital camera. Is it possible by using a special cable or connector?
When you use a vivitar or sunpak with your UZI do you use the CB-04 cable and do the units disable the pre-flash - I'm not referring to the redeye setting. I want to use a couple of slave units but the preflash of the Oly C2100UZ makes it not synch with the flashes. Also does the CB-04 have a female connector at each end? What are the other cables available from Oly to use off camera flashes without a female connector? Some seem to have a pin type connector. I'm not so interested in lighting up the world as I am in defeating the pre-flash so I can use the slaves.

Of course there are some who claim that trigger voltage is unimportant. I tend to believe them ,as there is no documented evidence from anyone that their camera has been harmed by using non proprietary flashes. Some posters are using older flashes with success and no harmful results. Do you have the nerve to try it? if so let us know.
