Hi You boiler is leaking. You need to replace the boiler. sorry. Your water hardness might be set to low if you have been descaling when it tells you to. Boilers usually last 7 to 10 years, but need to be replaced. If you need one let me know. I have some new and rebuilt boilers for that machine.
The leaking is from the water pipe coming from the boiler thought the solenoid valve to coffee group. Their are many points that this leak can be so the only way to find it is to run the machine completly open without the plastic sides. The most posible postion is the plastic hose conected on the coffee group and some times you will have to place it back in position very easy.
Good luck.

Is this problem happening by chance after you have used the maker? If so the heat from the previous use may be causing the water to steam from being so hot and thus causing the pot to be only half full. the hotter the maker the more water evaporates. You might need to let it cool down in between pots.
Do you have a magnet in the left corner in water tank? if you had it, make sure it float up when you fill the tank with water.
If you not have a magnet, try to open the steam knob and see if you can get a full cup of water, if it stops with half cup then the "water turbin" has to be replaced.
besides descaling you need to lube the brew group, especially the bit that accepts the group nozzle. You might have a leaking boiler too, 6 years is pretty good for a vienna.
Remove the brew group and look for the two red o-rings on teh brass bit, smear some lube on it, they might need replacing by now, but luckily they aren't too expensive and readily available albeit a bit tricky to install, a good light and some patience is very important.
A good chance - and easy repair lis just that the plastic hose has wiggles loose at one of hte various conenctions as water routes through teh machine.
hopefully if is not a crack in the boiler, assuming it isn't
