After filling my Mr. Coffee to the 12 cups limit, turning on the machine...2 1/2 cups of water do not make it to the pot. There is NO water on the counter but the poor thing is steaming like a locomotive (steam engine train). I ran vinager & water solution through 3 X's to no avail. Now it is putting out less and less water than before.

Run a half a pot of vinegar through it then 2 or 3 pots of water. It's from lime and calcium deposits.

Looks Mr Coffee has a matter generating hability., defying basic laws of the universe. Kind of a "Little Bang Theory". Seriously, no, it has no secret water compartment. Possibly some water remaining there from previous use.

Its pretty easy to open the top and fill the reservoir with water up to the level needed (i.e. 4 cups). Then press the ON button to start the brewing process. Make sure you fill the filter with ground coffee.

I suggest you use vinegar acid.

You need a solution with half part water and half part vinegar acid.

1) pour 4 cups of water into your coffee machines water tank.

2) pour 4 cups of vinegar acid into your coffee machines water tank.

3) turn on your coffee machine to decalc.

4) refill tank with clean cold water and let it run through ( 2 times)

REMEMBER !!! ALWAYS POUR ACID into WATER !!!! AND NOT THE OPPOSITE !!!
If you pour water into acid it can explode and make terrible damages and cause chemical burns!!!

Put a small amount of vinegar in the coffee pot, fill with water "12 cups" add contents to main unit and turn on, when finished! empty pot in sink and refill coffee pot with water only and cycle it through three to four times to make sure the vinegar is flushed out of the lines, adding fresh water each cycle.

water inlet valve is jammed and needs to be replaced

mcdevito75 here, Your Mr. Coffee may need cleaning, here"s how, Fill the resovoir with white vinegar, cycle thru the machine 3 times, half way thru the 3rd time stop 1/2 way thru and turn off machine for 30 minutes, then recycle. After that rinse your Mr, Coffeee by cycleing thru fresh water each cycle takes another resovoir of fresh water to get rid of the vinegar. If this is not the problem, maybe the pump is shot. Contact Mr. Coffee by phone or online at Mr. Coffee.com or replace the machine.

Try 1 cup viniger fill rest of pot with water. run it through the machine. through away fill pot with water run through 2 more times. that should do it.

its most likely evaperating cheaper models are known for this!

I had same problem after 4 months. very slow brew time, 10 cups of water poured in made about 6 cups of coffee. I used a packaged coffee pot cleaner powder and this fixed the problem (for now).
