Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10/B Digital Camera

2 Answers

I have a Sony DSC-H10 camera. I love it, but after several years of constant use, the flash will not work. It pops up, but doesn't go off when the picture is taken. The battery is fully charged, I have checked the flash settings and it will not work in forced on or automatic setting. the camera is not in a mode that prohibits the use of the flash.

The problem with this model is the charging capacitor on the flash circuit board. The flash circuit board comes with a new circuit board, flash bulb and cable, not really for the novice to install. I have those pieces new and readily available. Contact me at [email protected]

Hello there. i have a dsc h10 with the same flash problem. Now, i know a little bit of electronics so i decided to open it to see where's the problem. After opening, i turned it on, put it on auto with flash forced on and measured the flash's capacitor and it was almost fully charged (300V out of 315V). And then i tried to manualy launch the flash but no luck. So in this case i think that the flash is burnt. You said that you have this flash circuit, but the problem is that i live in Cyprus :(...do you know by any chance haw could i get this flash circuit? A response would be much appreciated. Thank you very much!

My sony cyber-shot DSC-H10 flash stopped working. The flash pops up like it is going to work, but does not flash. I can take pictures but with noflash. Can you help me?

You flash is in ' Flash forced OFF ' position.Press on the flash control button repeatedly until one of the four modes are selected.

1.Flash Auto - Flashes when there is insufficient light or backlight ( Default Setting )

2.Flash forced on

3.Slow synchro - The shutter speed is slow in a dark place to clearly shoot the background that is out of flash light.

4.Flash forced off - ( Your current mode ).The flash automatically pops up and strobes when using the flash.Close the flash by hand after use.

Sony dsc-h10 flash not working

If the Forced flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting is enabled, the flash will still not work in the following circumstances: When shooting MPEG movies When shooting in the Twilight or Handheld Twilight mode If shooting with the Burst or Multi Burst mode Shooting with Sweep Panorama Shooting with the Fireworks or High Sensitivity mode. If an external flash is connected. Please make sure that the Camera is not set to any of these modes. You can check the manual to get the information to change the setting..
If the issue persists, please reset the Camera and make sure that battery is fully charged. If the issue persists after performing all the above mentioned troubleshooting steps, service is required. If you feel that the above Troubleshooting steps, helped you. please rate my answer positively. Thanks for understanding.
