Hi,

Try increasing the temperature of the freezer (closer to -5) for a few days. It could be you have it too cold.

At certain times it should feel warm in some places on the sides, or you may hear a fan running. If you don't get this, there may be a fault in the defrost circuit, timer or fan.

Make sure vents are clear, and that door seals are in good condition. A faulty door seal admits warm damp air which then freezes.

Where is the ice forming?

yes,

you have a defrost problem, three things..

one, defrost heater could be bad,

two, bi-metal could be bad,
and three, the timer could be bad.

any of these three items getting bad would result to one symptom.

SOURCE: Evaporator fan stops working due to ice buildup around fan.

you need a drain tube heater.it is like a chain fence tie made from alluminum, you can actually use the fence ties, wrap one side around defrost heater and stick the other side in drain.that will prevent it from happening again

SOURCE: ice buildup on bottom of freezer

yes, the drain is clogged, remove all food from frige and freezer and defrost with a hair dryer,go the the freezer section this is where the issue is, you need to poor hot water into the drain trough located just below the evaporator, chase the drain with a coat hanger with the hair dryer on the coat hanger this with heat up the coat hanger enough to melt and free the clog.

There is a buildup of ice behind the lower section of the plastic back panel which eventually prevents the door from closing.

Frost buildup at back of bottom freezer department. Refrigerator should be frost free. Freezing impaired.

could be anumber of things happing, is the freezer fan spinning? if not ice will accumulate( also hamper cooling in the refrig section). perhaps a defrost issue, a bad heater or defrost thermostat could also cause, this/ may even just be the door being left open for extendedperiods of time( ie.. overnight, or hte gasket not sealing correctly) leading to a frost build up on rear panel

Freezer section not freezing

If you only had ice buildup in one section of the evaporator you have a weak/inefficient compressor.
You need a new compressor or a new refrigerator.

Fridge wont stay cold in the bottom.

Your frost free is not defrosting properly. There should be no ice buildup in the freezer section. Frost in the freezer section stops air circulation to the refrigerator section.
