Using a Win NT machine I need a serial connection to synchronise the pda with outlook. So I bought the cradle with usb and serial (same as for e800)connectors. However I can NOT get any serial connection with the NT or other XP computers. It seems to me that the e400 can not recognise the serial protocol. Even after a hard reset the connection can not be made. So 2 questions:
1) Does anyone have had a serial connection (on mobile2003)?
2) Can anyone give tips how to create connection?

When you go through the connection wizard on the LG PC Suite take note of the port number that it is using.
Then go to device manager(for win xp go to start/control panel/system, click on the Hardware tab then device manger) on your pc. Expand Ports(COM & LPT) and right click on LGE Mobile USB Serial Port and select properties. Take note of what port is indicated in brackets. Go to the Port Settings tab and select advanced. Change the com port number to what LG PC suite was using. Select OK, OK and try connecting again with the Wizard and see if you can transfer data etc
Let me know if that helped.
First sorry for my bad english.I have a same PDA (acually its dead :-( ) And me too had this problem.Try moving a little bit your pda on cardle, or (this looks like crazy but actually worked for me) do not fully put in the cardle into pda.I mean dont stick in into cardle, just a little bit.
try syncing through bluetooth, there could be a problem with the cradle. i have had an issue very similar to yours and had to do a soft reset on my pda. then set up your device to use a blue tooth connection( you may need to buy a bluetooth dongle for your pc).
Assume that your Visor is your data respository. So you should make sure that you have an up-to-date synchronization from the NT PC.
Now get the XP compatible software for your Visor from the palmOne website and install it on the XP box. I assume that you will be synching via USB this time - this is the default setup when you install the software. Hopefully you still have the USB cradle that came with the Visor. You can still use serial sync with XP but you should try to take advantage of the speed of USB on the new PC.
Download for XP & Visors: http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/visor/win_desktop_401.html
Once the software is installed, sync with the new computer and all your data should be copied from the Visor to your PC in the first synchronization. By the way, Outlook shouild be installed on the new computer before you install the Visor software; otherwise the installer will not offfer to install the PocketMirror conduits.
In ActiveSybch there is an option of setting the priority of either the PC, the PDA or leaving the items unresolved.
You can either change this of follow another route.
With the device off the cradle delete the partnership WITHOUT deleting the partnership folder.
Place the device on the cradle & let AS find the device & setup the partnership.
Once setup remove the device & go to options & set all the required options.
Replace the device & it should synchronise.
