Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
The humming is probably coming from the drain motor- might be jammed!

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

Figidaire FTF630as0 won't agitate. The door locks and water drains but won't agitate or spin

Hello Tina Kaha - Often when a unit does not spin, it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the washer may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.

MY GE front loader washer won't fill with water or spin. I hear a hum when I turn it on and it sounds as if it's about to start a cycle but nothing happens.

It sounds as if your water valve is either clogged or the solenoid is stuck and not letting any water in. Here is a checklist of things you should do to help isolate the problem:
1) check to make sure the water is on
2) turn the water off and remove the water lines and verify that both the lines and the screens on the valve are clear of debris, calcium, etc.
3) take the top off the machine where you can actually see the valve, turn the machine on and see if the vavle is the humming noise that you are hearing. If so and no water is coming out then the valve is bad.

GE Profile dishwasher makes a humming noise

I had the same problem. The issue is due to the top rack water inlet not properly seating against the water line in the rear of the washer. I fixed it by placing heavier items (bowls, glass cups) on the rear of the rack and lighter items (plastic cups) near the front of the rack. As long as I arrange items on the top rack in this way the washer runs silently.

Our GE Profile Deluxe washer is not draining

Your post says "drain hose is kinked". I assume you meant NOT kinked. You didn't leave a model # so it's difficult to advise. If it's a top loader set it to spin and listen for the drain pump sound. If you hear just a dull hum it's probably stuck with something in it.
Use a shop vac to get the water out. Pull the front off and remove the hoses from the pump. Look into the inlet and you'll see the object.
