I have a faulty remote (some buttons not working) for my Durabrand DVD?VCR recorder combi, model DBDVR01. Have tried getting replacement on ebay and several remote suppliers but can't seem to get hold of replacement. Any ideas? Otherwise machine works fine.

This is because you did not use the right remote code. Try trying different codes and test different functions with your recorder. Try searching on the Pioneer wesbite for remote codes. I would get the codes for you, but I don't have your model number so I can't. You can search for them yourself or comment back informing me of the model.

Nothing is happening because the firmware can't recover/repair the error. Yes, you must take your unit to a dealer, this is a hardware fault and the faulty part must be replaced.

When you are turning the recorder on it is blocking the signal for cable going to the TV. Your TV will need to be on channel 3 or 4 depending on what the dvd/vcr player channel output is set to. This is why your tv is asking you to re-scan. It is losing the video signal because the dvd/vcr is taking over. The reason why the vcr with the button on the remote is because the vcr button is changing the function of the buttons on the remote to vcr. Even though the dvd/vcr is one unit they still will act like two seperate components independent of each other. They have seperate power buttons and the dvd player part may need to be hooked up seperately with rca cables to work.

keep pressing ur switch of the remote under a mobile camera or somthinsee whether a light comes from the top of the remote if it does not come there might be a problem vth ur remote

sounds like your aerial's at fault move to another place with a good aerial to check if still faulty then tv's tuners faulty.

There could be at least two ways to hook in your VCR. The common way is to hook your VCR inline (between) the sat box output (RF or antenna) and the TV RF/antenna input. This will allow you to play the VCR/DVD & record whatever channel the sat box is set to. I'm not real familiar with the newer sat boxes, but I assume they output one channel at a time, thus, you can only record that channel. On the older cable or outdoor antenna systems, you could record one channel while watching another. Perhaps some sat boxes have this capability. You might do a Google search with the box Model number to see if an online manual can be found. The other hookup possibility is if your TV set has audio/video inputs & outputs. Hook these to the matching input/output of the VCR/DVD.
