Hello
First the unit needs to be on a tilt towards the outside.Check that the drain pan is clear of any debris.
Use a hose to flush out the drain hole located outside on the bottom of the unit.

What smell comes from an air conditioner leaking freon?

More then like no. Your AC does not hold very much freon so anything other then an extremly small leak would cause it to stop working. It is probably some small rodent or something like that got into your AC and passed.

Why does the air conditioner leak water from behind the unit. My air conditioner is placed in a wall and the back end of the conditioning unit sticks out inside the garage. I have ventilation by...

It is normal for an air conditioner to leak water out the back. This water is actually the humidity being taken out of your house. Being vented out in to the garage is always an issue with condensate water. I have seen some people take a funnel and run a hose outside the garage somewhere. Keep the vent closed. It will be harder to cool the house with the vent open because it lets outside air in to the house.

My air conditioner is leaking water inside. Did I install it improperly?

Use a bubble level and make sure the unit is sloped away from the house. There should be a hole on the underside of the housing near the rear of the unit make sure this is clear.

The air conditioner is comming on but it is not cooling the house when i look at the unit inside the house as it runs it gets covered in snow/ice build up on it i cut it on when the temp was 79 degrees in...

Your low on freon. probably a leak. what I suggest is have someone give it a shot of freon and see how long it last. While he is there have him check for leaks. Make sure your filter is clean. A clogged filter will also create snow on a coil

Why does my airconditioner leak

If this is a window ac then you need the back of the ac lower than the front, so the water can drain to the back.

Not cooling house. Its never worked.

Check and see if the inside and outside coils are cleaned , if they are , have someone come out and check the freon in the unit it can leak out over a period of time.

My window air is leaking on the inside of my house

usually because the drain hole/duct/tube, on the outside is blocked, or the aircon is mounted leaning Into the house, condesate that is supposed to drip into the outer casing and run out the hole is funneled over the lowest point of the casing, the house side.
check and unblock the drain,
and ensure the aircon is mounted tilted back.
