No audio with hdmi connection.
i'm trying to connect my dell studio xps laptop til my philips tv vis hdmi. i've read and tried many things, bur nothing works! first i tried connecting my laptop to my parents tv via hdmi, and it was easy and there was no problem. then i send the tv off for testing, but no problem detected, and an employee of the company came and connected his own pc without problems!! i've also maked sure the sound is leaving the pc through the hdmi output and the soundbar is moving like sound should be playing throug the connected tv, but nothing, not even fra the pc. i can only think that the problem lies with dell and driver having problems connecting to philips tv's?? do i really have to use external sound wire...

you will probably need to also use an aux sound input in conjunction with a video cable if you are not using an hdmi connection, read the article above for confirmation.
turn off tv and laptop. connect the hdmi cable to your tv and laptop turn tv on then log onto your laptop Both devices need to be off when connecting the hdmi cable
If your laptop does not have a HDMI port then you need a VGA to HDMI converter. Connect this converter to your laptop and then connect it to the TV using a HDMI cable. You also need to connect the audio out port on the laptop to the audio in on the TV. You can get a combined audio input with some HDMI converters. Check out this WEB site. http://www.proaudiovisual.com.au/vga-to-hdmi-converter-adapter-and-upscaler-video-audio-full-hd-1080p/
i would suggest calling technical support to see if the sim card you are using is even compatible with your laptop, you should not be having this problem if it is.
This has to do with your video driver on your laptop that needs updating.
go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update
download any updates from here.shutdown laptop, check the cable connection from laptop to tv then restart.
If still no luck try another hdmi cable
Are the screen and computer sharing the same power supply, on a 4-gang multiplug or similar? What else is plugged in to the same supply? Have you got another HDMI cable to try this with? How is the audio connected - can that be changed to test it? Have you another laptop or PC that you can connect to see if this is the TV or the laptop causing the issues?
If it's the first time using your PS3, use the composite cables that came with it. Turn on the PS3 go to video settings and switch the input to HDMI. After you've switched to HDMI, turn the PS3 off and connect your HDMI cable, go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If this isn't the first time you've used HDMI for your PS3, make sure your T.V. is on the correct input. If the T.V. is on the correct input, try switching the HDMI cable to a different input. If that doesn't work try using a different HDMI cable, testing different HDMI connections if you're still getting the black screen. If none of those work then it's probably a problem with the PS3, but just to make sure try plugging something else with HDMI to see if that works. If another HDMI device works, then it's your PS3, if it doesn't then it could be a problem with your HDMI connections on the T.V.
Hello there. I might be able to help you here. Go to your desktop right click and go to resolution settings. Make sure you have your tv selected on your pc as the display you want to use. This may solve your problem.
