SOURCE: I have a harley fxr rev counter but dont know

You have to obtain a service or electrical manual for your motorcycle and take a look at the wiring diagrams. You could also look up the Tachometers manufacturer and contact them for the information.

SOURCE: Hi i have brought a

GREEN is always ground, start there, you will need a volt meter a $10 Harbor freight or $29 Home Depot volt meter will work fine. set the dial or setting selector button etc to DC voltage, the meter will come with instructions if you arent sure how to telll if its correct. with the black probe of the meter or just one probe if they are not red and black in color denoting Pos and Neg probes.

With the black probe on ground test to the other wires you question, with the key of see if any read voltage to ground? then try with the key on but engine off, then start bike and read, and if a light switch exists, most today are daytime running with engine and no off switch is fitted, but if so switch on the light and read what becomes hot and when.

Remember there are just 2 sides of power there as the battery has but 2 terminals, Pos & Neg

Positive is the side we begin to a switch through a load and every single corcuit must return to geound , or neutral or common, all different names for the same thing or side of power,
the negative or neutral or ground is common as the corcuits all terminate there to comlete the circuits requirements for 2 sides of power a switch and a load.

all those wired are just 2 wires really, and most are hot at voarious times depending on sequence of operation desired and what circuit is from what switch or relay etc.
