I bought a brand new Porter Cable pancake compressor (6 ga.) and it came with a brad nailer/hose kit. The unit runs when plugged in and gets up to pressure, filling the tank. I am unable to get any air through the hose provided, any ideas what could be wrong? I have tried both air ports and various attachments, nothing.

SOURCE: Porter Cable Pancake compressor: no air through

If this is a almost new compressor, check to see if the plastic plugs they install in the air intake has been totally removed. It is possible to run the compressor with plug still in place. You might have to remove the air filter to check.

SOURCE: Porter Cable 18 ga Brad nailer - BN200 Will not reload

Strip and clean the whole diaphragm and spring arrangement. Also check whether a bad nail hasn't damaged the piston guide and caused it to jam when on return stroke.

SOURCE: New Porter Cable BN200A brad nailer won't fire.

I have seen this problem several times and have been able to repair like new by replacing part #894737 head valve seal. Upon assembly examine metal parts for fine scratches where orings or seals contact. Remove scratches with fine sandpaper (300-400 grit). Lube orings/seals with silicone lube sold at Lowes in the plumbing department (Danco Brand). You can buy this part from local Dewalt repair center or on the net at www.toolpartsirect.com. This part is alco included in kit #60061. Install the kit if gun is several years old or has lots of wear. This nailer will not operate correctly if there is an air leak. If you have a leak after installing new part/parts please email for directions. Good luck!

How do I adjust the depth of the brad nail on the porter cable BN 125A brad nailer

Hello. To adjust the depth of the nail you have to increase or decrease the air pressure from the compressor. Look at the compressor and you will see a knob or dial that you can turn to increase or decrease the air pressure. Do this adjustment in small increments testing the nailer by driving nails into a scrap of the same material you will be driving the nails into on the actual job. Increasing the pressure will drive the nail deeper and decreasing the pressure will drive the nail less deep. Joe

I have a Porter Cable brad nailer BN125A, at 125 PSI and depth adjustement turned to the deepest drive setting, the brad does not set flush with the surface. Problem?

A brad nailer in good working order, set to the deepest setting and using 125psi should almost shoot the brad through the wood. If you have been oiling the gun properly (three to four drops at he beginning of your work session and again in the afternoon if under constant use) then you probably have some worn o-rings inside the gun. Porter Cable makes a driver maintenance kit (PN1001 60062) for your gun that will make it work like new.

I've got a Porter Cable pancake air compressor with, what I think is, a bad pressure switch. Plugged in, switch to auto, and nothing happens. Unit is bleed and gauge is at 0. I can get a new switch for...

You can test the other components of the compressor by temporarily by-passing the pressure switch. Connect line in to motor wires and plug in unit, unplug when pressure reaches 125 to 130 lbs. There is a safety relief just in case so do not worry. It the pressure does not reach target pressure there may be a leak or worn cylinder. If target pressure is reached in a short time replace pressure switch. Very easy repair. Good Luck.

Porter cable pancake unit blows air after shut off.

those have a reed valve set up you need to pull the head off and you will see two strips of metal that are usually held down with two small screws each the one on intake side most likely you could get a rebuild kit cheap it will only have new reed valves maybe new screws for them a leather ring and a head gasket
