Replace broken speaker f03-007a-12-c to an IM7

I have the exact same issue. Even the remote works fine, but no sound. I have even tried to use aux.
Did you find a sollution already????

I also had my latch broken. I called the latch manufacturer and they sent me a "sample" pack of latches since you can only buy in large quantities; so I now have ten of them. I love my IM7 and will be happy to share my latches if anyone needs one.

Try getting an old speaker. Alternatively remove the old one by twisting the side of the speaker anticlockwise then unscrew it.
Take it to one of the speaker shops where you could either get something closer to what you have or get a coil rewind and a diaphram change.

1. Contact Altec Lansing.
2. twist the Speaker frame anticlockwise to open then unscrew the speaker then look for a similar/something close to it(size and amps) one in the local audio shop.
3. Get it to some audio shop for a recoil and or diaphram change.

I have one that just quit all of a sudden as I was listening to it. Don't know what happened, but it "clicked" and that was it. Sounded great while it was playing, I have the remote if you are interested.

I've found a solution. Most likely you have broken the catch inside this part so it needs replacing but don't worry, it's relatively easy to do. The latch is the black piece of plastic behind the door with a claw sticking out.
1. First, email the manufacturer and and ask for a sample latch to be sent out to you. After a bit of research I finally found them. 2. Get a pair of thin pliers and carefully pull out the old latch. To do this pull on on any part of the outer rim. I used the lower edge. Don't worry of you damage it. You'll be throwing it away anyway. Just don't damage any of your speakers.
3. Slide the new latch into position and push into place.
4. That's it. All fixed!

re your IM7 'plug in switch' which changes it from battery to 110-----where is that switch located, and how much of the unit did you have to disassemble to get to it? Thanks

I have the same problem. I have a Brabantia bin and the catch is the same as the IM7. You can buy replacement catches from Ebay for the Brabantia Touch Bin. Just need to work out a way of swapping them over

I had the same problem. Eventually the other speaker quit also. The problem was a broken wire under the door. This required complete disassembly of the unit just to get at these two wires. Sorry the news isn't better.

Altec no longer makes the power supply. However you can find used ones on eBay for about $25. I went to my local electronics store and bought an 18V, 2 amp power supply for $14. It works great and charges the iPod just like the OEM power supply. The store I purchased it from is JK Electronics in Westminster, CA 714-890-4001.
