Resetting an iPod if you forget your password

The iPod is a security measure to prevent unauthorized access to your personal media player. Apple included an option to set a password to be used to unlock the device at startup. If you draw a blank password, you can still have the ability to unlock the device, but the process depends on the model of the iPod. IPod Touch owners to restore the device to a password reset code. Other iPod owners need only plug it into iTunes to lock the screen around.


Lock the iPod

1. Connect your iPod to your computer you normally sync your device.

2. ITunes load.


3. Click the "Eject" on the right to offer your iPod under "Devices" in the left column of iTunes. The iPod will be unlocked.


4. Select the "Extras" on the iPod.


5. Select "Lock screen".


6. Select 'Turn Off Screen Lock. "


Unlock iPod Touch

1. Connect your iPod Touch to your computer.


2. Open iTunes.


3. Click on the iPod Touch icon on the left "Devices" section column.


4. Select the "Summary" tab.


5. Click "Restore" and confirm the prompt action in the resulting pop-up. Follow the wizard prompts for the restore process to complete.

ipod touch won't connect to wifi

There's a possibility that the password that the network was asking is the 'network key' (e.g. WEP or WPA-PSK). If this is the password that the network is asking for, you need to contact the administrator of that network and ask for the Network Key, because that network is secured. They put this kind of security to prevent unauthorized users to connect to their wireless network.
