My Inglis washer machine (#111-07) which we bought 2 weeks ago, doesn't use any hot water when set to the warm cycle (in between cold and hot), so i can only wash with entirely cold or superhot water (either not clean, or not good for my laundry). I tried messing with the water supplies, like trying to close the cold water supply a bit more, but then i saw that there is NO hot water added AT ALL. In the manual it says that the machine will automatically wash 'a little bit colder' when set to the 'warm' cycle than what i'm used to with my 'previous machine', (to help save energy), but this isn't very helpful at all. Anyone has any ideas before i send it back to the shop?

Hi Elllie602 (!) from retired Englishman in SW France,

2 weeks old? Under guarantee/warantee? Get in touch with the vendor/shop!!!
Even if it takes only cold water for the warm wash (which is a bit daft- normally washers mix the hot and cold accordingly) and heats it, that is not how most hot n' cold washers work.

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I suppose i wasnt too clear! It doesnt heat the water either, so im washing with either cold or superhot water only..

My washer says "all cold" rinses. I take my laundry out and it feels warm so the rinses are not cold. This should not have an energy star rating.

Whirlpool model WTW5310VQO

i've found problems with the temp. switch on this washer part number W10184148 and it's around 40 dollars, also on the rinse cycle the washer only uses cold water.what happens when you use just the hot?i had a lady that her water would start to fill and then the water would stop and the pipes in the house would start making a banging sound.if you order the part from http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Switch/W10184148/1468990 repair clinic and if this isn't your problem which i think it is from how you discribe it you can send the part back and get your money back for up to a year.good luck with your washer and next time you buy something and it doesn't work right get right on it

Water flows constantly during the spin cycle

Servicing Water Inlet ValvesIf the washer won't fill or fills very slowly, if it overfills, or if the water is the wrong temperature, the water inlet valves could be faulty. These components are easy to locate and very easy to replace, at little cost. When you suspect an inlet valve is faulty, first check to make sure the water faucets are fully turned on and properly connected to the hot and cold inlets of the valves. Then check the screens in the valves; if they're clogged, clean or replace them. If water doesn't enter the tub, set the temperature control to the HOT setting. If there is no water, set the control to the WARM setting. If all that comes out is cold water, the hot-water inlet valve is faulty. Reverse the procedure to test the cold-water valve, setting the control first on COLD and then on WARM. If the tub overfills, unplug the washer. If water still flows into the tub, the valve is stuck open. In any of these cases, the valves should probably be replaced.

Cold water problem

more than likely that your inlet valve is faulty it needs replacing thats the more common fault for water not going into the machine
