I have a HP620 and bought a Dane-Elec 128mb SD memory card.
I know this camera supports up to 128 mb.
I continue to get "unspported Image" message for every photo I take (the original internal memory and 32mb Sandisk card work ok).
I tried the firmware update but (unless I'm doing something wrong),the message comes up that there is no update loaded.
When I open explore to find the downloaded uncompressed file,I'm not sure if I am dragging it to the correct place (my lingo is not so good...Root ?).Where or what is root?..I assumed it was the main folder (not sub folders).
When I drag it over and paste (as per instructions)the camera red light flashes for a few seconds but does not turn amber in color (the instructions say it should change color and then shut off) .It does not shut off either.

Re: HP Photosmart 620......SD 128 Card
Some can't accept a card may be bad or incompatible. And while I asked if you formatted the card "in the camera", you just replied you formatted the card, but didn't spell it out and write "in the camera.
Take the card and camera back to where you got it and ask them to show you working or ask for an exchange.

Yes, any Secure Digital (SD) memory card can be put into your hp Photosmart 620 camera safely. I would not go any bigger than 4 GB due to the limitations of some computers that you may use to download and process your photographs. And, you probably will want to pull off the phototgraphs and put them onto your computer for long term storage or for printing. That camera normally makes about a 1 Mb file for a JPEG image file. It will take a long time for you to fill up a 2 GB card; around 2,000 photographs.
