How can I connect my Sony DSC F55E to a Macintosh? Wich cable can I use? The one wich was sent with, is not compatible... greetings -- Nils
The solution Sony provides in North America is geared strictly towards PC's. The supplied serial port adapter and software do not function with Macs. However, if you peruse through Sony's Japanese web site, you'll notice specific references to a Mac accessory kit. I'm trying to get some info on this kit. In the meantime, here's my solution. I've purchased the Memory Stick to PC Card adapter kit. It turns the memory stick into a PC Card. I've also ordered a USB-based PC Card reader. These two items should allow me to transfer images quite rapidly (11-12 Mbps) to my G3. Only one question. I'm still going to need some software ( I think ) to actually transfer the images from the memory stick/PC Card to the G3.

I don't think as yet that it is possible to hook up a DSC-F55 via a serial cable to a Mac. And that's a f#$%^ SHAME! So now i'm waiting for a coolpix 950, and there's a long waiting list. The only solution on offer here now (that's Europe i guess) is a pc-card reader for memory sticks, but it restricts you to a powerbook. Boooooh!!! I guess Sony and Apple aren't friends anymore. If anyone disagrees i'd like to know.
