When I turn on the TV, the DVD player has always made a sound as though it was being activated. It would cycle for a few moments (like it was looking for the DVD) and then the sound would stop. But lately, when I turn on the TV, the cycle does not stop after a few moments. I have to turn off the TV and then turn it back on, and then it will cycle for a few moments and the sound stops. Sometimes, when I turn on the TV, the DVD player will make a thumping noise and I have to turn off the TV and then start it up again and the noise goes away. I think the DVD player needs to be repaired. Since we don't use it, does anyone know how I can just disconnect it so we can continue to utilize the TV and not have any more DVD issues? Thanks.

You kneed to replace the DVD Deck. Very easy, just a couple of screws on the side and pull the deck out. When you pull the deck out, if there is a cable connected to it, you will need to take the back off and disconnect the cable. Some models have it and some don't.

There is a blank square in the middle of my TV, it just started a few moments ago. it blocks about 50 percent of my screen.

Sounds like it is in text mode. Go into menu/settings and turn off text mode. Can't give more details. They are all different.

NO VIDEO BUT HAVE SOUND

Good day! Try to check the rca jack video input.Replace it with new one if defective. Also check the progressive scan features if activated. If it is activated check your TV if supported by progressive scan features, because some TV is not supported by progressive scan. You can deactivate it by turning off or activate the interlace mode.Press the open/close to open disk tray. And press the numeric keypad 1 for few seconds. Hope its help.

I want to know how to swich the tv to wach dvd player? the remote works with the tv but how can i swich to wach a movie....i dont want to set up the remote to the dvd...

Sounds like you need to change the input channel of your TV with your TV remote. Look for an Input or Video Source button. Once you've found it, insert a DVD then cycle through the inputs with that button until you see something on the screen. As always this could be undermined by incorrect connections to and from and the DVD player. Double check these as always!

DVD playback color

When passing the video signal thru a VCR on the way to the TV, you are activating the DVD's "Macrovision" copy protection.  You need to hook it directly to the TV.
