Can you use the PSP Memory Stick Pro Duo cards on your DC?

I have a Sony DSC m1, and i'm looking for a higher capacity memory card. The Memory Stick Pro Duos for PSP are cheaper than the ones that's not specified for PSP. Will the memory sticks for PSP work on my camera? Thanks!

Yes! The Memory Stick Pro Duo's are one in the same. (Just out of curiosity, where are you finding them cheaper?) One note, however; as strange as this is, though the PSP plays mp4s, they will not play mp4s from a memory stick pro duo that comes directly out of your M1 camera... I've tried it, I have both a PSP and an M1. (The PSP will show off your M1 still photos, though.) Hope this helps! Susan

My computer (HP DV 5200TX) is not reading the memory stick duo. What steps can I try?

I didn't know that HP built computers with card slots that support MS pro duo. Try getting a mini-usb cable, leaving the card in your psp, and plug the PSP into your computer. Make sure you set the PSP to connect using the USB first, though.

When I install my Memory Stick Pro Duo 8GB in my camera it will format and take and store photos fine 1460 total. I then try to put the Memory stick in my card reader which says it supports this format it...

You need a new memory card reader. The reader isn't supporting the higher capacity of the new Memory stick. For a workaround, hook the camera directly into the computer via USB cable - then the camera itself becomes the reader and can transfer all of the pictures. Look for a reader that specifically does Memory Stick PRO Duo sticks, the PRO means the higher capacity.

Not able to copy movies on Sony 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for PSP

Before you go throwing any old video file onto your PSP, make sure you have the following items:
  • The PSP. This is self-explanatory.
  • The .MP4 video files.
  • Video conversion software to convert non-MP4 files to MP4, the format the PSP reads.

Memory Stick won't load on PC

tyr looking for a firmware or an update on the net for your memory card reader.  It should be easy to find.  And update. Since the flash memory card isn't the problem it's either your card reader is too old and can't support that size of card or the reader need an update.

Maximum Memory Stick size I can put into my Sony DSC-N1

Unfortunately, there is no way to change the internal card reader in the camera to accept higher density memory cards. You can find the memory stick compatibility list here: https://esupport.sony.com/perl/support-info.pl?&info_id=12 . Scroll down to the Cybershot N Series camera list. The maximum capacity memory stick is 4 GB memory stick pro or M2 Memory stick Pro. For the Memory Stick Duo, it looks like those have a maximum capacity of 2 GB.

I hope this helps.
