You have to get Intel 82801 drivers for windows XP before you install sp3..

After re-installing an OS or a Service Pack,you need to do a re-install of the particular drivers(Sound,Graphic,Chipset...etc.) to keep your computer fully running.

You should go to the audio troubleshooting page on Intel's support site. Most likely you need not only the audio driver itself but the Microsoft UAA driver installed prior to the actual sound driver.

Run the wizard and see what it says about your device. Post your results under this thread for follow up purposes.

Go to nec.com, next to their support and download section. you are looking for the audio driver for the Powermate VT300i series,

Being such an old card, it isn't supported by XP or even Windows 2000, and for sure not Vista, so the above is all that is out there...

1st Download Driver from this site Intel Sound Driver
Installation of Sound Card.

• Go to the control panel
• Click on the System Icon
• Click on the Hardware Tab
• Click on the Device Manager then
• Select the Multimedia Controller or Audio Control the yellow Question Marks sign on it.
• Right click on Multimedia Controller and uninstall it.
• After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
• Driver installation Wizard start.
• Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
• Driver will be install.
