Two more things to try:
1. Set the burning speed from automatic to a slower speed.
2. Get a can of air and blow out the drive, the laser may be dirty.

Sorry things went way "south" yesterday and I did not get a chance to get back on. Anyway, when cleaning the drive did you use a CD cleaner like you can buy in the electronics store. Everything I am reading on this issue says to change the speed and clean the drive. I will continue looking. You also might repost the question, so it will go back to the top of the list. In that post list what we have done, maybe someone else will have a better solution.
