Hold means you are always controlling the set temperature. You want a hold if you do not wish to have a set schedule. Not sure of your tstat but likely if you press run you will return to your schedule. Or by pressing hold again will return to schedule. IF THIS CHANGED BECAUSE OF A LOSS OF POWER you will likely have to edit your schedule.

Scheduled backups are an integral part of any effective disaster recovery plan. The Windows Backup Utility is offered in a free download on Microsoft's website and, while it is not the most feature-rich tool on the market, the Windows Backup Utility will back up files to hard disk, CD-Recordable (CD-R) or tape at the times and dates specified for the scheduled job. Editing scheduled jobs can be easily done. Click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of the window. Select "All Programs." Choose "Accessories" and "System Tools." Select "Backup." Click the hyperlink "Advanced Mode" in the "Backup or Restore Wizard" window. Choose the "Scheduled Jobs" tab. Click on the icon in the calendar for the job you want to edit. Select the "Properties" button from the "Scheduled data" tab. Choose the "Schedule" tab. Select the task schedule from the drop-down box beneath "Schedule Task." Set the start time by clicking the up and down arrows in the box under "Start Time." Choose the "Settings" tab. Select the desired options using the check boxes under "Scheduled Task Completed," "Idle Time" and "Power Management." Click the "OK" button. Click the "OK" button in the "Scheduled Job Options" window. Type the user name used to run the job in the space beside "Run as" in the "Set Account Information" window. It depends on the job you do, AND the wording in your contract. I would suggest seeking official advice from your local authorities, (Here in the U.K. it is the "Citzens Advice Bureau"). They should offer some free advice at least.

If you do it yourself, it absolutely CAN be done for much less than that. The conversion kit basically consists of changing the orifice/s on the burner/s, changing the spring in the gas valve and setting the proper gas pressure. Most all kits come with basic instructions. Make sure you use a gas approved pipe thread compound (pipe dope) to prevent leaks.

If you hire an appliance repair tech or a handyman with good solid appliance skills you could expect to pay anywhere from $75 to $150 for the job.
You can likely save some money by having the kit on hand for the tech. (let them know when you schedule the job, so they won't have to track down the kit for your unit.)
