It could either be your float sensing that you have enough water to operate the unit - http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/Maytag-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/99002628/0026/464/Model-MDB5600AWB/3048/0130000?keySuffixId=NA&productTypeId=0130000&searchModelNumber=MDB5600AWB&subCompDesc=Tub&brandDesc=MAYTAG&modelDesc=MAYTAG-DISHWASHER&blt=11
Or the water inlet valve - http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/Maytag-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/6-920534/0022/665/Model-MDB5600AWB/3048/0130000?keySuffixId=NA&productTypeId=0130000&searchModelNumber=MDB5600AWB&subCompDesc=Tub&brandDesc=MAYTAG&modelDesc=MAYTAG-DISHWASHER&blt=11
If the motor is operating without water, then I would first check out the float and make sure that something has not gotten under it, making the machine think that it had water, when it doesn't.
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
The problem
is that the control detects that the motor is not running and so drains water
directly after filling it. If you hear a hum sound from the bottom panel then
it is the motor that is bad, if you don't hear any sound and still the unit
performs same way then first thing to check is the motor, and then check the
control as even a bad relay in control can cause this issue. Please get back to
me if you have any other questions.
