I cannot get the camera to work. It tell me there is a format error. No matter how many times I go to "tools and try to format it. It makes a noise like it is try to format the disc but eventually a light comes on and it says format error. The book tells me to plug it in to the charger and try, which I've done several times with no success. I know the discs are good as the worked in the camera before. Is the camera shot? Any ideas? Thanks Jahum

If the disks you are using are new, there is always a possibilty you got a bad batch or you got some that were not pre-formatted, or were formatted for an apple computer. I assume that there is some way to format a floppy disk with the camera. Try to do that and then see if the floppy is recognized.

I to have a format problem. The only thing the book tells you to do is plug in the charger and go to "tools" then to format disc. Which I did and nothing happen. The camera makes the sounds like it is formatting the disc, and then it stops and a light comes on saying format error . It does this over and over again. Is the camera shot?

Memory stick error

The Mavica MVC-FD100 has spec for the std. memory stick and does not allow use of the newer Pro-Duo memory stick. Buy an old used std. memory stick on ebay to fix your problem.
