All you need to do is to download the driver from the site - LExmark support- and RUN the driver software on the PC. now connect the printer to be detected and installed.

I want to install printer drivers to a laptop but the printer is in the field, how can I install the drivers without having the printer connected tot he laptop.

You don't necessarily need your printer connected to your PC to install the driver. The driver installation is so that your PC can communicate with the specified printer. If you have the install CD you can install the driver and software. Now Depending on your printing machine, some installation CD's will ask you to please connect your Printer. If this is the case, there really is no way around that because the installation directions wont let you proceed to the next step without doing that.
Each printer and its installation software have different protocols. Some will let you install without the printer being connected, some wont.
I hope this information gives you some clarification on your question.

My laptop does not have a cd drive.and without a drive i cant set up my printer how else can i do it??

Download the drivers and software from the printer's manufacturer website.

Use the paralel/usb cord.After the copiers is allready conect the laptop used the cable and perform printer driver install cd.

I disconnected the printer when I moved the computer, then reconnected it and it is prompting me to enter the disk with the software to install. I cannot find the disk. Can I install without the disk, or...

Whenever we are buying any new printer, the printer driver cd will be given by the vendor to install the printer in the Laptop or Desltop.

In this incident, the printer software might have been removed fully without knowing this issue.

The best things is either approach the Local Printer dealer to get the Printer Driver cd and install the same in the machine.

Or it can be donwloaded from the Net, but it will consume more time.

Best solution is approach the local printer engineer who will be having the Driver CD with him to install the same in the machine.

One more request is make the printer, desktop or laptop should be in some annual maintenance contact with local authorized vendor. In this case, if it is under Annual Maintenance Contract, the Vendor should have installed the printer within a short span of time.
