Re: Sony DSC-P93 battery replacement question
NiMH batteries. You can use the larger mAh AA.
It has more capacity and should give you longer service before needing recharge.
The battery manufacturers recommend that you do not mix the batteries. i.e. don't use mAh 2100 and mAh 2500 as one set, use all 2100 or all 2500 as one set.

No it would not be advised to go for a lower mAh as your phone would not perform as eficiently and also too I would recommend to replace it with same as qriginal 1.2 v -Ni-MH battery . And you can get any battery from Amazon .Com at avery good price, that is my go to place if I want something specific.
try with other type of rechargeable batteries.Duracell or Energizer will do the best. Read carefully on the package the year when battery was made. Over 2-3 years, the electrolite from the batteries may became dry, reducing the power capacity. You must buy fresh battery. But you must know that many digital cameras drain more than 2 Ampere from the batteries even without flash on. That means you need minimum 2700 mA/h cells to last longer. I hope this will help you.
may be batteries you brought are old try with normal ( not rechargeble ) batteries. it would not last long but you can take atleast 30 to 50 photos. if it works it means new batteries are faulty.this type of problem i never saw in camera.use SANYO harmolattice HR-3UQ batteries.
Z710 can use: KODAK Rechargeable Ni-MH Batteries (AA Size): These Ni-MH AA batteries last up to twice as long as alkaline batteries when used in your KODAK Digital Camera and KODAK EASYSHARE Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack: Provides exceptional capacity with its 2.5 hour fast charge cycle time; can be recharged up to 1000 times in the EasyShare Camera Dock or EasyShare Rapid Charger.
Try using recomended batteries:
optional KODAK EASYSHARE Docks with 1 KODAK Ni-MH Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KAA2HR; 2 Ni-MH batteries AA, 2 lithium batteries AA; 1 KODAK Lithium Digital Camera Battery CRV3; KODAK Ni-MH 2100mAh Battery Pack, KODAK Digital Camera Battery AA (ZR6); KODAK Alkaline Digital Camera Batteries AA; 3 volt DC input AC adapter
This is not specific to your camera, just general advice. I think that Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended for most digital cameras. However, you should be able to use normal alkaline batteries too.
I found that one has to use their batteries of at least 2100mAh and NI-MH. I recharged my batteries removed the new ordinary alkaline batteries I had put in and BINGO IT WORKED. Just to prove the point I put in another set of Alkaline batteries No good. It must be that NI-MH Batteries rated at 2100mAH have more power (or one can draw more currentat start up) a battery guru could maybe veryify my conclusions. Anyhow try NI-MH batteries and see how you go. Best of luck fredlich
