Hi martnezlizz, I will be glad to help you with your problem,

  1. You must have 2 video sources connected to the tv.
  2. Connect your main source, cable, antenna or satillite.
  3. Connect your second source, dvd player or game console.
  4. Press the PIP button on the remote.
  5. Press the Pinput button on the remote.
  6. Choose which input you want to use as second source.
Detailed instructions can be found on page 55 of the manual and here is a link to download it. http://www.vizio.com/assets/0/92/94/118/de070116-91ba-4d18-b436-f3c168e03b53.pdf    Let me know if I can assist further and please rate this solution. lone99star

SOURCE: vizio 47" sv470xvt1a 6" wide verticle green bar on screen

Hello ,

I would suggest checking the driver circuitry for the LCD screen and I would also check the connectors from the driver board to the LCD. Either a component has begun to malfunction (hence the excessive heat) or the component has becom thermally sensitive and is reacting to existing heat and is allowwing excessive current to pass causing more heat to be generated. In any event have a qualified TV technician look at this problem because he will have the proper equipment to troubleshoot the TV in the proper fashion.

SOURCE: Vizio TV 2006 vx32Lhdtv doesnt work.

I had the same problem after having a Vizio for 2 and a half years. I left the room for a minute, i came back and the screen went black. There was still power to the unit and you could see that the back light was working, just no picture, no sound, and you couldn't use any of the buttons. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. It would then start up, with the Vizio logo going from orange to white, and then do the same thing all over, no pic or sound.

HOW I FIXED MINE:Look through the back vents for a white light to make sure the backlight still works. I ordered a new "main PCB" from tigerdirectparts.com (you can also use searspartsdirect.com). This is the circuit board with all of the inputs on it (hdmi, cable, etc.) I opened it up, disconnected the old one, put in a new one and now it works fine. I used both serial numbers on the board to search for it online. It cost me $144 to do it, but that's better than $450 for a new TV. My tv is the vx32l hdtv10a. I hope that helps.

For me the part number was either (depending on the vendor) : 0171 2272 2174 or it was 3632 0212 0150. Check your circuit and see if any of those numbers match up.

SOURCE: VIZIO GV42LHDTV Got TV after

Hi.

If the TV does not start with the new audio board, and if it does start with the old one, then the audio board that you recently purchased is defective.

About the board : 0500-0507-0230; that is the power board (PSU). If you could see the Vizio logo, that means that TV started, and that the power board was OK without need for testing. When the power board is defective, either the TV does not give any sign of life, or the TV goes in standby mode from start and does not wake up. In that case the led stays blinking to warn you that there is an incorrect voltage from PSU.

If the TV is freezing with Vizio logo, that means that at most the faulty part is the main board.

Also, you say that there is no backlight. No backlight means that the screen is completely dark. If there is no backlight you won't be able to see the logo or any other picture. If there is no backlight, then the problem is usually the inverter.

Here a brief article summarizing how to test PSU and inverter: How to test an LCD TV.

Here all parts for this model:GV42LHDTV.

Regard.

Ginko.

Tv wont turn on fuse is good

does the vizio logo light up orange ? If so and it doesnt turn white then the main board would be suspect. If the logo doesnt turn orange when its pluuged in then its the power board. You can get either board from www.tvrepairworld.com

Vizio m470nv will not come on, logo blinks orange to white.

It may not be the caps at all, a lot of the new LED Back-Lit TV have faulty LEDs. They short and pull down the power supply, and to a novice it will seem like a bad power supply. That means that you must replace the bad LED's in that particular LED strip before you can fix the problem. Not an easy repair for a rookie.

Solutions (2) Best Solution That little fella is only turned off by unplugging it. If all those little lights in America could be turned off we could do with one less nuclear power plant. If unplugging it is not an option, my wife's solution is to cover it with a piece of black tape.

remove all screws on the back of the tv, carefully pull off back cover. you will see two circuit boards one on the left (Power) and one on the right (Video) on the Video board there is a small plug on the right side with a yellow, white and red wire going into a small white connector. the red wire is what controls the orange light on the front. now that the plug is pulled turn it over and you should see a small white plastic piece that holds each metal connector on the end of the wires in. pry this piece of plastic up for the red wire and pull at the same time, the wire will come out of the connector. now tape the metal connector with electrical tape and tuck it behind something or tape it to the chassis. plug your connector back in. put the rear cover back on. now your tv will only show the vizio logo in white when you have the power on. If you wish to disable the logo for both orange and white just disconnect the white plug completely.

Power is there, but TV won't turn on

stored voltages are high no touching these circuts becuase they hold charges and alot of screws.
fualty capacitors you say after a while it stays on theres a full charge in the unit theres some type of discharging effect on the set after its off for a while. voltage goes to low or unstable after it is off for a while. your better off getting the service docs for this set if you want to diy..other wise get a tv tech to check it for you. hope this helps
