if problem with the coax the cable company should be able to provide a box with audio/video outputs on the rear, you hook to the same on the rear of your set and bypass the problem.
PIP means the set uses either two tuners or a dual tuner--could be a issue with the tuner. If it has a swap feature in the PIP use it to see if color when tuner is switched from main to PIP tuner.
A possible way around the issue is to look to see if rear audio/video inputs have color---you could route signal from a box etc to one of those and BYPASS the problem if rear inputs do not have this problem(not likely they will).
Greetings Pete - No, your display is what is called HDTV ready, meaning it needs a separate tuner AKA set top box.
You need to get the cable box, plug in the component video cables into your TV (usually provided) and plug in audio cables and you're viewing HDTV. See below:
the cable connector being broke more than likely has damaged the tuner. sometimes the tuner can be rebuilt depending on the damage. since the set is shutting down there may be more damage. if the set stayed on you might be able to bypass it using vcr. the worst case the small signal board might need replaced that cost aroun 300
Your tv has a input named COMPONENT to make work this input you need three RCA conectors (RED GREEN BLUE) plus two audio RCA Conectors red and white. If you have another set that can be plug in in this input and that set (dvd recorder, in ex.) has a digital tuner then you got it, But the Magic about the decoder box is that only cost 40.00 +- dllrs and send the signal to your antenna connector or RCA analog conector. Good luck!
This TV is not able to understand digital channels because its tuner is not able to find that band, it works only in analog channels. To be able to get HD channels is needed a decoder box that has digital tuner build in. for a tv to understand HD Channels with analog tuner is to us to try to speak at the same time different languages.
convergence for the rca itc222 is set individually for digital and analog tuner. Most of time the set will have to be converge in service mode. as a tech i would not recommend getting intoservice mode. but the key is the the convergence has to be set indiviadually for each tuner. You could try autoconverging in digital or even manualy converging
