Question about LG L194WT 19" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Hi, I turned my computer and monitor off as I normally do last night and when I came downstairs this morning to turn my computer and monitor on, my monitor didn't turn on. I pressed the power button on the back of it and the light on the lower right corner did not turn on. I tried holding down the power button, but nothing happened. I tried swapping the cable with on which I knew for sure worked, and still the monitor wouldn't turn on. My monitor is an LG L194WT Flatron. Is there anyway which you could help me sort this out? Thank you

You need your monitor repaired or replaced.
Unlike a computer, there is not much troubleshooting beyond making sure it is plugged into a live outlet and turned on which you did already.
Good luck!

That shows you that the problem is not your monitor
but your operating system is not booting or is hung
turn off your computer & restart pressing F2 as soon as it starts to boot up select open in last known configurationto see if the O/System will know boot up
If this Fails &you are not a experienced enough to do a repair sequence from your O/S disc .Reinstall your O/System

3 inches of black on both sides of my monitor

I have seen this when using HDMI cables from the computer side.. The TV has a resolution that is not always full screen with TV shows. There is a setting that allows you to "zoom". My TV has 4 settings: normal, stretch and crop, stretch left and right, stretch and pinch (shrug).

Try taking on the back of the monitor and pulling the power plug all the way out of it for about five minutes and then plug it back in and restart the computer see if it solved it thanks

Turns off after ONE second

like i put in another solution, this is probably the capacitors on the power board in the screen :)
easy fix if your okay with opening it and you can solder :)
theres 4-8 capacitors usually on the board, check if any have residue on them, or are fat (not normal cylinder)
