Question about HP iPAQ H5550 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Battery Is the battery life/usage on the h5550 usually short? I lowered the backlite time, I don't use any of the indicator tones, and as of yet, I haven't used the bluetooth or wireless connections. Is there another battery that will give me longer usage time? Thanks for any comments.

If you take a look on the back of your battery, it will give you a mAh value ie 1550mAh, the higher the number, the longer it will last.. most replacement batteries are 1550mAh, and very cheap, but you can get 3000mAh batteries, which should last twice the time, but they´re as much as 5 times as expensive... they obviously take longer to charge too..

Battery life aspire 5750

It depends on the usage as if the initial charging was not done properly and if the battery was charged on all the time , it is possible that the life of the battery can drop off.
Normally the battery must work in optimum condition for at least two-three years and then start to lower in time. Make sure that the processor works with low strain, the software is not corrupt and your standby time is set low including the screen brightness.

FS240BX battery how Long should it take to charge.

Hi .Charge the battery initially for 9 hours.

After the initial charge, under normal usage, your power pack should be fully charged in 3 to 6 hours. If the power pack is run-down completely, it may take up to 6 hours to become fully charged.

The red light is just a power indicator. The light will not go out, change color, or blink when the charging has been completed.

To prolong power pack life, avoid leaving the power pack on charge for extended periods of time (over 30 days without use). Although overcharging is not a safety concern, it can significantly reduce overall power pack life.

The power pack will reach optimum performance after being cycled 5 times during normal usage.

There is no need to run the batteries down completely before recharging. Normal usage is the best method of discharging and recharging the batteries
Hope this was of some help to you.

Battery life less than 12 hours; Wifi says "UNABLE TO CONNECT"

This is a really good article that will take you step by step through the settings that will best optimize your battery life. And if this doesn't help you should make an appointment at your local Apple store, they are always very helpful (at least in my experience).

IPhone 3G Battery Life

All of the iPhones have the ability to connect to an external battery, a charger, or any computer with a USB port. You only need a cable. Does your Treo charge from any USB port? And carrying a cable in your bag is no harder than carrying an extra battery.
I don't think you'll ever see a replaceable battery in an iPod or iPhone. It would make the device too big and it would reduce the battery life--that's right, battery life is worse with a removable battery because the battery has to be smaller. However, you can be sure that Apple will continue to push the chip makers for lower power chips

Battery charge is finished very soon without even using it( in about 5 hours)

The proper way of charging the battery on your phone is by waiting for your phone to indicate that it's running out of powe but not completelyr, if you frequently charge your phone even if it's not yet necessary(battery life indicator show half-way) the ability of the battery to store power will deminished hence the battery life is shorter. Last resort would be trying another battery unit to test if it's your battery of your phone that's causing the unsual battery drain.

Or you can try the following steps on conserving your phones battery life;

  • Turn off your Infrared and BlueTooth when not in use. Even when they are not in use, they do keep drawing power looking for signals.
  • Switch off the vibration alerts. Vibration causes a lot of power usage thereby making battery drain fast.
  • Re-adjust your screen brightness to around 50%. Screen power is another silent killer.
  • Usually, presetted Backlight durations are of pretty high order, this can be readjusted to get more from your battery. Try reducing the Backlight duration.
  • Often we don’t understand that playing games requires Light, Sounds and Shakes. This in turn leads to tripling of battery drainage.
  • Lower Ringing and other message sounds. This too helps saving a lot of battery.
  • Finally, do charge your battery before it gets drained fully. This enhances battery life.

Lying ipaq H5550!

It's a problem with either the memory board or the button board. With my h5550, the bottom buttons started to stop working and eventualy the PPC stoped charging all together. You can find parts for it online. If all the buttons are working fine, then it's most likely the motherboard. Otherwise it should be the button board.

IFP-395T (AA Batteries)

Probably a hardware issue, but the issue could also be with your USB port - make sure that there are no yellow exclamations next to the usb port in the PC device manager.

The battery indicator might not be stable during the following activities because they use large amounts of power:

1. The backlight of the LCD
2. Volume change
3. Pressing function keys and buttons
4. Reading the CD or files (Loading data to the memory)

The battery indicator shows the life expectancy of the battery based on current power usage. During these high power usage activities, that may only last a few seconds, the indicator will obviously show a lower level on the battery indicator. Once the high power activity has ended it will show a more accurate battery level.
