Icemaker not making ice what can i do - Kenmore Freezers

If the ice room is not getting/staying cold enough, the unit will not harvest the ice and proceed through the cycle... First step in troubleshooting is to determine if the compartment the icemaker sits in is cold enough, if it is, then you have to test the ice room temp. sensor to see if it is not sending the correct temp signal to the main board. HI this is just a test the icemaker runs when you first turn it on, its not suppose to fill up the tray, it will fill it when the icemaker reaches the correct temperature, if its not cold enough in the freezer it wont kick on, if its been sitting for several hours and still wont fill or make ice, you need a new icemaker. The new icemaker part # is WR30X10093

to see if icemaker is still good pour a 1/2 cup of water into tray and wait for a day. make sure shutoff arm or switch is on or down (arm down) if it makes ice then the icemaker is ok. if it dont then hold up.
if it makes ice then either the water pressure is too low (or no water) or the water valve is bad. (to check water valve you need a volt meter).
ok back to hold up part... the icemaker actuallys controls the water valve so you can have no water but that doesnt mean the icemaker is bad. so here are the three possiblities to your problem:
ice maker
water vavle
not enough/no water
before you buy anything let me know and we can go over this again

make sure you have strong water pressure to the frig.
Do the ice maker have a shutoff arm? or a shutoff switch? either way make sure it is on. by now there should be water in the icemaker tray. if not then manually pour 1/2 cup of water into the icemaker. if it does make ice then replace the water fill valve.
if there is ice still in the ice maker tray you still have to check the water fill valve before we can say the icemaker doesn't work.
need a meter to check the continunity of the water vavle. if the valve is open repalce valve, if there is continunity the the valve is good.

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker ( unless ice is already there ) . If the icemaker dumps the cubes , then the water valve is bad . If it doesn't dump , and holds the frozen cubes , replace the icemaker . Also check your coils to make sure they are clean from dust , lint , etc . Check the fill tube going to the icemaker , to make sure it isn't frozen with ice . If it is , then watervalve is still bad (leaking ) .

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker and see if it dumps the cubes after a few hours . If it does , and icemaker does not refill , then water valve is the problem . If the icemaker never dumps the water poured in , then icemaker is bad . ALSO , check to make sure the coils under refrig are clean of dust , lint , etc . Icemaker has to be 5 degrees to operate .

Normally, when the temp of the icemaker gets to about 14 degrees F, the icemaker goes into the harvest mode, turning on the mold heater and attempting to eject the cubes. When the heater has warmed the mold sufficiently to release the cubes, the ejector can continue and push out the cubes, then the icemaker fills with fresh water to beging to make a batch of ice again. Manually starting the cycle as you have done only allows the cycle to start without the temp sensor seeing the 14 degrees. The mold heating generally takes a couple minutes. If your mold heater or the temp sensor are not working, you will have to replace the icemaker, as they are not available as a repair parts.
