Hi. This is a typical sign that your hard drive is experiencing a serious failure. I hope you have backup of the most important data on the hard drive. You can try to fix the hard drive using a tool like HDD Regenerator, but the results are not guaranteed. Your best option is to buy a new hard drive & restore the data from backups.

3rd master hard disk:S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, BACKUP, and Replace

S.M.A.R.T. is a way to tell if your hard drive is going to die soon. Since it says BAD, it means the hard drive is going to die soon so you should backup all your data and then replace the hard drive with a new one or a working one that isn't dying.

Hi this is what i get when you turn on the PC takes a few seconds and shuts down the PC. "SMART Faulure Predikted on Hard Disk 4 : WDC WD3200BEVT-222CTO-(S1) WARNING. IMMidietly back-up your data...

SMART is to measure your Hard Disk Drive health. This warning tells you to backup important stuff and prepare to replace the HDD. If the computer can no longer boot into Windows, connect the HDD to another PC or you can also get one of those HDD enclosures which will let you connect the HDD to other PC's through USB connection so you can backup your files.

Hope this help, goodluck!

Disk error searching for boot rercord from CDROM not found

Hi rmirish,

The hard drive has built in SMART diagnostics to check itself to make sure all is well. If the SMART is showing status BAD then the hard drive is either either starting to go out. Your best bet is to try to backup any data (if you have any) on the hard drive and replace the hard drive.

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Michael

Master hard disk s,m,a.r.t.status bad, backup and replace

A failure message from the SMART system of this nature indicates that a catastrophic hard drive failure could be imminent. Without delay, back up ANY data you want to keep. This error isn't going to go away, and is being reported by the drive controller.

Whilever you can access the drive, move any data you want onto another media (such as DVD or external USB hard drive) because chances are it's not going to work much longer. You need to look at buying a new hard drive as soon as you possibly can, and migrating the data to it.

Files and Settings Transfer Wizard will be able to backup your data to another media.

Compaq laptop C310 T1300

here's what you should do.. first, as mentioned, you should backup all your important files in another drive or an optical drive... once you have done it, format your hard drive and perform scans to check the error.. during scan, you will see errors on it and you may not be able to fix it since the drive is internally damaged.. purchase a new one ok? just make sure to backup all your files..

BIOS SET UP

Hi Raysgirl

Happy Holydays
you may have to take out the the hard drive, and buy new one for this particula BAD SECTOR, error on HD. you also have to move the pin, on the CD rom to Cable Select, and left the IDE hard disk to Master.(PIN)
that should work, and put in bios AUTODETECT for all devices in channels. IDE 1 and IDE 2
good luck
