they're called towers. They go on the 2 long screws once you've put the screws through - so they go between the two panels. They are used to space the 2 panels so that they line up flush when they are back together.
SOURCE: replace glass on front of oven
Hi You need a high temperature silicone adhesive designed for this purpose. There are a number of companies that make a suitable glue. There is also a company, http://ovendoorglue.co.uk that make a small kit specifically for the purpose of fixing your oven door. Do not use normal adhesive, as the correct adhesive not only is heat proof to 300 degrees centigrade, but also remains flexible when cured. This ensures that as the oven heats up, and the metal and glass expand, the flexibility in the glue prevents stress in the glass. Dow Corning make a glue that can be used, but be aware that it is red, and so may show. Other glues are black. Indeed the black glues tend to be slightly thicker on application and dry quicker.
SOURCE: range door insulation strip
this white/silver strip I presume is the seperator between the inner and outer glass ? if so, you shouldreplace it and is so, use a little silicne caulk to keep it in place. it is tricky job to open the door inner and outer panels; you may want the hands of a second person. he strip keeps dirt from covering the inside of the glass panels and smoke film from bulding on the glass otherwise you will never see thru it. SOURCE: how do I repace the glass on the front of oven door
Click on this to view the diagram.
Put a thick towel on the counter (or table). Remove the door from its hinges and set it on the towel. Be careful not to damage anything, especially glass and door handle. Remove the door handle (#10 screws). Remove the bottom screws that hold #4 outer panel to #9 inner door panel. You can then set the outer panel aside. Collect broken glass pieces if any and install the new glass. Set the outer panel back on, and repeat the other steps in reverse.
That's about it.
Let us know how it goes...
Thanks
