Have an Amana 85088 P1109007W that worked fine for 18 year just bought a new one and moved the Amana out to the garage to use as a second frig .We cleaned it and plugged it in , it cooled for about 10 min and stopped. It has lights but no noise from any other part of the frig??

It may be in defrost mode. Look at the temp control on the underside for a hole with no
screw in it that appears to serve no purpose. Using a flathead screwdriver, turn the
mechanism inside the hole, (it is the defrost timer) and see if the unit comes on. If no
luck, then replace the start relay which is located under the plastic cover on the side of
the compressor. It plugs onto the compressor on three pins, if no replacement is available
they make a "universal" start kit for about 8 dollars which plugs onto these pins and has
good instructions. Model and serial number are usually inside the fresh food compartment
on the left side. The appliance parts store should have this item readily available.
