I just had the same problem! I gently tapped the the bottom of the handle with a hammer in a clockwise direction. It finally unlocked and is now working fine. Good luck!

When i try using it, nothing happens. i cannot

Remove the work bowl, blades, etc from off the base.
Plug the processor in and press the ON pedal down.
Use a pen to press in the rubber button on top of the base - you should hear a sound.
Now reassemble the bowl - lock the bowl in so that the handle faces front; insert blade of choice; place the tab under the feed tube of lid slightly left of center of the work bowl handle and slide the lid counter-clockwise until it clicks into place; insert pusher and make sure it locks into place.
You should be good to go again.

Can't get cuisenart pro 11 to start

I am assuming you have a DLC-8S Pro Custom 11, and not another Cuisinart food processor.

Remove the work bowl and all other parts completely from base.
Plug the base in, and turn it on.
Use a pen to press in the dark grey or black button on top of the base.
If you hear a spinning or other noise, the motor is still good.

Now that you have verified that the motor is good:
Put each work bowl piece on one at a time - if you don't out it on one at a time, it will not lock in properly.
Put work bowl on with work bowl handle facing front, make sure bowl locks.
Put lid on with hollow feed tube facing the back of the food processor.
Put pusher sleeve into lid's feed tube, with sliding lock switch facing the front of the food processor.

You should now be good to go.

Food processor does not work but light is on

Put the work bowl, lid, and pusher on one piece at a time - handle of work bowl faces the front of the food processor, hollow feed tube faces the back, and the sliding lock switch on pusher sleeve faces the front. Should turn on.

If it doesn't, test the motor - remove the work bowl and other parts completely. Plug the base in and turn it on, and use a pen to push in the dark grey or black button on top of the base - if it spins, the motor is still good - you may just need a replacement part. If it doesn't make a sound, it needs to be sent in to Cuisinart for repair.

Place the work bowl over the spindle, with the handle facing the front of the machine - make sure the tabs lock into place.
Place the stem adapter on top of the spindle, then the blade.
Place the lid on top of the bowl, with the feed tube facing the back of the food processor. Then the pusher into the feed tube.

Remove the work bowl from the base of the food processor, and separate the bowl, lid, and pusher sleeve.
Plug the base into the wall outlet, turn the food processor ON, and then use a pen to press in the dark grey or black button on top of the base of the food processor - if you hear some kind of noise, then your motor is still good.
Put the work bowl on first, with the handle facing the front of the food processor.
Put the lid on, with the hollow feed tube facing the back of the processor.
Put the pusher sleeve in the lid, with the sliding lock switch facing the front of the processor.

Cuisinart prep 11 Plus won't run.

Remove the work bowl completely and separate the work bowl, lid and pusher sleeve. Plug the base into the wall outlet and press the on switch. Use a pen to depress the dark grey or black button on top of the base of the processor. If you don't hear a sound, then call Cuisinart and get it repaired. If you do hear a sound:
1. Put the work bowl on first, making sure the handle is facing front
2. Put the lid on, making sure the hollow feed tube is facing the back of the food processor
3. Put the pusher sleeve in, making sure the sliding lock switch faces toward the front of the processor

Turn the machine on - it should now be working

I have a kitchenaid kfpw760 food processor. I assembled it as per manual then added ingredients to work bowl, but...my ingredients are below the blade in the bowl and the blade doesn't contact the...

The work bowl lid has a feed tube on it, and the unit should have also come with a "feed tube pusher," a plastic piece to help depress food through the feed tube itself.

With a food processor, you will want to assemble the unit first, engage, and then add ingredients. This will ensure the ingredients fall through the blade and/or disc to be processed thoroughly.

If your food processor still does not turn on, call Cuisinart and see if you are eligible for an in-warranty repair - it has a 3-year warranty.

Good luck!

DLC 7 pro

Removing a Cuisinart Food Processor Work Bowl
You have to remove the pusher first by twisting it off. Then press the sides of the pusher sleeve inward and slide the sleeve up and out of place. Then twist off the lid - all twisting on these food processors works either clockwise or counterlcokwise - not both. Then twist the work bowl to the left (clockwise). Voila!
