How do you reset it to factory settings

To perform a soft-reset (if the device has locked), briefly insert the stylus or a paperclip into the reset hole on the bottom left of the 3715
To perform a hard reset (losing all data!), insert the stylus or a paperclip into the reset hole on the bottom left of the 3715 while holding down the far left and far right of the four main buttons. Information in the iPAQ File Store will not be lost, but data on the Internal memory will be wiped.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Hp ipaq 3715

Hopefully you can do a warranty repair, I'm pretty sure the main board is damaged since a hard reset should have taken you back to the factory defaults.

What's max mem size for ipaq 1950

Mem cards are added as storage cards and do not add up to your iPaq RAM.

You can use mem cards to add up space to install applications. (ie. it is something similar to installing a new Harddrive on your PC). However the physical RAM of your iPaq cannot be extended.

PocketPC programs have small RAM requirements so your PDA's built-in RAM will suffice.

As far as the maximum card size if I understood your question right, if your iPaq comes with Windows Mobile v5 or earlier, it supports SD cards up to 2GB and perhaps some non SDHC standard SD cards up to 4GB. If you can upgrade to WM6, then WM6 supports SDHC cards, so you can install >4GB cards.

Hope this helps.

Ipaq totally dead after leaving it in my car for two weeks, temperature down to -6C

Its possible (but not likely) that when you took it into a warm room condensation built up inside it. Try removing the battery, memory cards and letting it sit in a warm, dry environment for a few days and try again. If nothing changes I suspect that a component has failed, but -6F is still within the operational range of commercial electronics. If your device is still in warranty then I would call HP up and ask for a warranty replacement. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don't forget to rate this posting.

Can I backup to iPAQ File Store?

Yes. Storing the backup image file to iPAQ File Store or to a storage card is an easy method to recover when having to hard reset the unit.

Rx3715 - Help needed!

For data files, you navigate to them with File Explorer, tap and hold on their names, a pop up appears. Choose Move to, and then you'll be asked for a location. But data files probably should be moved to a storage card, rather than the File Store. As for programs, it's risky just to move them from one location to another. The safer course is to Remove them (Settings -- System -- Remove Programs) and re-install them to the new location. When installing via ActiveSync, when the installer asks: "Install to default location," answer No, and you'll get a menu asking where. Choose File Store from the drop down. Good luck.
