The largest capacity SD card the camera can support is 1GB. It also supports MMC (multimediacard) from 16MB upt 1GB but its recommended that you use an SD card as they read and write faster than MMC.
Hi Guys, this is Sid. If u have locked your MicroSD in a S40 phone(5300,5200), and the phone is formatted or not available(physically), then THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET YOUR DATA !!!
NOTE: But card can be used after formating !!!!
SOLUTION: To format the card you need a Memory Card Flasher. Buying it is not a wise decision, as you won't be gettin into the same problem again and again. So carry it(the mem. card) to a Cell phone repairing shop, who has a flasher, they'll do it for you. It'll tak 10 to 15 minutes to format a card(for 1GB). They may charge anything between 50(INR) to 150(INR), depending on how dumb he thinks you are! I got it done for 80 bucks(due to my impatience)@ National Market, Bangalore, India.
I didn't give it in Nokia(they might be having the flasher) as those @$$#0!^& take a week to do these simple things
thanks
Look... Actually, every storage device don't give its full capacity to be used by the user... Such as, a HDD with 1.5 tera bytes will only give 1.4 tera bytes for us to fill in the data... and it is a natural phenomenon when our system is slow when we have full capacity.. This is normal to everyone.. U should not be worried....
ok connect the card reader & put memory & try going in safe mode ... i hope you know how to go to safe mode ... (it is pressing f8 key before the OS boots)..
if still problem persists then Use FAT format to reformat.... when you put it into a MMC Card reader. if it reads in your phone then try deleting everything in that ... & also try to check the errors in that drive when connected to pc after this try formatting ........
I gave up and bought ($23) Conduit's Pocket Player which has no problem seeing and reading my MMC card which I sync to from Media Player on my PC through the PC's card reader. Job done!
Mem cards are added as storage cards and do not add up to your iPaq RAM.
You can use mem cards to add up space to install applications. (ie. it is something similar to installing a new Harddrive on your PC). However the physical RAM of your iPaq cannot be extended.
PocketPC programs have small RAM requirements so your PDA's built-in RAM will suffice.
As far as the maximum card size if I understood your question right, if your iPaq comes with Windows Mobile v5 or earlier, it supports SD cards up to 2GB and perhaps some non SDHC standard SD cards up to 4GB. If you can upgrade to WM6, then WM6 supports SDHC cards, so you can install >4GB cards.
