Like you know if the PDA is without power supply more than 72 hours there is risk of losing data. In my opinion you should be careful about that and data saving is very important. Till now I had no experience with changing battery and I can not give you a precise advice about that.

What kind of reset have you tried? A soft set (power off phone) or a hard set (take the battery out and wait 30 seconds) ? whenever you have problems with a smart phone, always do a hard set. You can find a downloadable app to put on your phone that will simulate a hard set without physically removing the battery. anytime you add an app or change the properties of an app, be sure to do a hard set.

Make sure your device is off before performing hard reset. While holding the power button press in on the reset switch with your stylus then release the power button. When a screen appears release the reset switch.

I-mate PDA2K shuts down without reason, requiring hard reset.

i had the same problem. but after changing the battery its oky now. its better u change your battery. u will end up the problem. but before changing the battery just c that is the outer cover of i-mate intact or not. because the problem with me was another one also. the external small cover could not be properly closed and it would move whenever i moved the cell phone alot. because there is a sensor along the shutting edges of the back cover. untill its closed completely your imate will give u the same problem. so first see the the cover is not moving all the time and if u do not have problem with that then change your battery. love u buddy. babay. a cute pakistani.

Hard reset screen appears whenever i change the main battery

Your pda has a built in battery. The inbuilt one has lost its charge. To keep it from reseting to its original factory settings. You need to keep the main battery(the one you charge up) regularly charged.

Unwanted hard resets

you have to send it in for service, there noting else we can do. well you can try a hard reset yourself but as its most likely a hardware problem it wont change anything

Just hold down the calendar and today buttons, these are the two outer buttons on the lower left and lower right, then using a stylus press and hold for at least ten seconds the soft reset button this is located on the lower right edge of the unit. The screen should reset and the iPAQ will boot up again.

Can the e800 USB-host feed a 500mA Harddisk?

You may need to look up the hard drive on the manufacturers web site. They should list the spec's, including power requirements. In theory, sounds good though - anything to eliminate a power brick is good. Do you already have a hard drive you're thinking of using? If so, please post the drive model, manufacturer, etc - I can look it up at work in our files.

Toshiba e800 perform hard reset after changing battery

At first you should assure that the backup battery is definitely charged. I suggest to charge the PDA a hole day without using.

E800 spontaneously resets

this hard reset is based on a slack joint. You could test it, if you turn your PocketPC on, and tip on the cover, near the Display or the Battery. If the PDA make a reset, your Pocket PC need a repair.

INTERNET EXPLORER

I have the same PDA but unfortunately I am not the expert. In my opinion it is not possible to install IE separately. It is not known to me that there is any possibility to download IE for PDA as an individual program. If you have already removed all programs why don’t reinstall the OS and it should work properly again. Did you already install Windows Mobile 2003 SE? Please go to www.microsoft.com and download iExplorer! Try to install it!

Problems with e800bt

I don't know much about italian warranty conditions bt in Germay you can ask to change the PDA after it is repaired three times without success! I think it is the best to contact Toshiba Italy directly and tell them your story and ask what to do!
