Question about Toshiba e830 Pocket PC

1 Answer

All data in the 128M SD Card disappeared

That is the second time I found data missing in the SD card, while the SD card is in use by the E830! The card was used in the E550g for 2 years and no any problems. The worst this time, all data disappeared!!!! Just like the card is formated. What's going on? I got the device 2 weeks only, and need to reset at least 10 time everyday, and data in the SD card will suddenly disappeared!!!!!! Is the device defected?

It hasn't probably really disappeared. I find that if I plug the sd card into a separate reader, the data is still there and by reinserting it into the toshiba it will show up again...most of the time.

Try buying them from Wal-mart or even Amazon.

SOURCE: Rom Update

As far as I know there is a big difference between Japanese and European images and you can not compare them at all. If the Japanese image has a bug or if there is some problem that can be corrected with a new update that doesn’t mean that European units needs an update too. Many of your questions are not completely understandable and I can just give you an advice to use a new BT driver (question 5). I have also 1 GB SD card and I use it with my e800 without any problems. At the beginning I thought that it will be read slowly but I am very satisfied with reading/writing speed.

Hi There

you need to format the SD card using any card reader and only then you will be able to use your SD Card in your PDA.

All the Best.

SOURCE: My e310 cannot format my sd card

I had the same "error 31" problem when trying to format a 2 GB SD card. I then tried a 1 GB SD card and it worked fine. I wonder if the device only supports up to 1 GB cards?? I checked the user guide and it does not say one way or the other.

How to recover my sundisk micro sd card or else how to format it? or what are the possibility to recover this thing?

Click here to download recovery utility. Or using any other file recovery program you can recover the files/ photos even after formatting it.
Secondly, you can format the card through windows, using memory card reader.
and if you want to completely erase the data so that it is not recoverable is to overwirte all data with some other files that are not sensitive and filling the disk completely.

Under the find menu several function icons are missing

Has your micro SD card become unseated from the slot? If so, and if you have any navigational maps on the SD card, the icons won't show up on your unit. Remove the micro SD card, wipe the brass contacts with a clean lintfree cloth, re-insert and see if that solves your problem. You might have to go to your map setup screen and choose to show the navigational maps.

Problems with e800BT and com ports

I use an e830 with a Holux GR230 without having any problems. The e830 uses already the latest stack from Toshiba so no need to upgrade. For the e800, hm depends on what kind of BT SD card you use, meanwhile Toshiba sells the BT SD3 card. Anyway, I would recommend to use the latest BT stack from Toshiba for your Toshiba BT SD card.
