How do I restart my Rheem 13AJN48A01 outside unit ?

1) Raise the temperature on your thermostat to 80-degrees Fahrenheit. This prevents the unit from turning on while you are resetting the compressor.

2) Find the red rubber boot that covers the rest button on the back of the air conditioner case. The reset button is near the copper lines at the bottom of the case.

3) Press the reset button once with your finger. Set the thermostat to the desired temperature. This usually restarts the Rheem air conditioner. If this does not work, call a Rheem professional to service the unit. Power surges sometimes destroys capacitors in the unit requiring a professional to replace.

Why does the unit beep when I plug it in.

Good Morning Tina,

I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAM187S2A, beeps and flashes lights when you first plug it in. First, test the power supply cord by doing the following:

1. Plug in your air conditioner.
2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out.
3. Press the RESET button. Again you will notice a click as the button engages.
4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. (On some products this is also indicated by a light on the plug head)

NOTE:
• Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off.
• Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation.
• The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when either the TEST button is pushed, or it cannot be reset. A new one can be obtained from the product manufacturer.
• If power supply cord is damaged, it CANNOT be repaired. It MUST be replaced by one obtained from the product manufacturer.

NOTE: Some plugs have buttons on the top.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

How do i fix E1 error

  • Press the "Power" button to turn off your unit and then remove the filter from the filter panel on the side or front of your air conditioner. Refer to your manual if you are unsure where the filter on your unit is located.
  • 2 Inspect the filter. If it is dirty, brush off dirt, debris and lint. If it is really dirty, wash it with mild soap and water and allow it to dry completely. Reinsert it into its compartment. If your filter is worn out or damaged, purchase a replacement filter from an appliance or hardware store and replace the old one.Turn on the air conditioner. Move to the next step if the LCD continues to display the E1 error code.
  • 3 Check for a reset button on your air conditioner and press it to reset your unit. Some of the newer air conditioners have reset buttons to restore the default factory settings. Press the "Power" button on the front panel of your air conditioner to power down your unit if it does not have a reset button. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. Leave the air conditioner off for several hours to see if it will reset.
  • 4 Plug your air conditioner back into the electrical outlet and turn it on. If your air conditioner is still displaying the E1 error code, turn it off and contact a qualified technician because the room thermistor responsible for detecting room temperature may be defective.

Beeping sound. Light flashing but swtch does not turn the conditioner on. The buttons on the plug do they work and what exactly they do.

One the buttons on the plug are a reset button. If you press reset, wait 3 minutes before turning the unit ON. Also, check the water collection tank. It may be full and needs to be drained. If that is the case, the unit will not turn ON, until it is drained.

    Thanks for choosing FixYa.
