I tried to update my 740, I follow the instruction but wrongly I first loaded the boot (boot-e740-1.06.bin) instead of the rom image (nk-e740-1.0624.0410.bin). Now the 740 it resets but it doesn't prompt the message "image download via PPSS" as before...
I made a mistake because the program went directly on the folder where is located the boot while the rom file was on the father folder... In that moment, I clicked on that file being sure was the correct one... I was wrong. It seems to work but with no possibility to update it anymore...it's my life !!! What can I do now to fix it?
Thank you in advance to anyone can support me.

To reinstall the computer ..you need either the recovery cd ..or the cd with the operation system in a bootable form ...If you have one of that ..you need to either use the F8 or F11 (depends on the bios model ) to start the boot menu ....and choose to boot from cd ..or to get into bios by pressing del or F2 ..and in there look for the boot sequence ..or boot order...and select the cd /dvd to be the first boot device ..than save the changes with F10 and hit enter .. After you changed the boot order...restart with the cd in ..and folow instructions on screen for to reinstall or recover the operation system .. In recover case ...just select the recover and it will go by itself..but in case yopu have a os cd ..you have to press any key to boot from cd when asked..and after that wait untill it loads all files needed..and it will restart ...second time do not press to boot from cd ..and it will ask for the agreement and look for previous installations ...In this moment select to not save anything (esc) and select the C drive hit enter and go for it ...The actually formating of the C drive is made in this moment by selecting to format it in NTFS either quick or normal ..and after that it will start loading windows and keep on ...by following the instruction s.. Good luck ..and pay attention on the boot sequence and the formatting ... If anything goes wrong ..just take it from the start ..and it will be OK .. In case you do not use the recovery cd ..make sure you have all drivers stored before you start the procedure ..cause you will need them after the installation is finished..
This issue appears to be pretty common with the a6400. The message you are receiving is most likely a result of Time Stamp locking the hard drive. The good news is that all of your data is still intact and your computer can easily be unlocked. Please visit the link to MSI's FAQ section for detailed instructions.
hi
Carefully reading user manuals help in most of cases :)
Just use Read flash option. After reading complete, SagemEG will show you phone code. If not success, there is another option to get code - sent flash.bin to [email protected]Here is log of reset to default , read eeprom n read flash
After the 6 minutes, what happens? Does Windows finally load? Does it power OFF?
Let's assume Windows eventually does load. The problem wouldn't be the monitor, instead look at your boot devices. You "could" have a USB Flash drive installed on your computer and that may affect the boot process. Try removing any external USB drives from your computer and try booting again. If it does load quicker, you have to check the internal configuration / setup screens on your computer. There is a boot sequence or boot order sequence that needs to be altered.
Hello cdcrowley2, it seems that the "problem is the [OperatingSystem] is not loading correctly." The CPU is trying to find or fix the 'loading' of the OS! Follow these instructions
"To get the Computer to "Boot into the OS and "Loading Windows."
Restart the Computer
Next, just before the [Page] that you mentioned, "Displays," {Press the F12 'or' F11} button.
This will open the "Boot Menu:" [Priority Boot Sequence] window.
There will be a "list" of (Devices), Optical Drive / CD, SATA / HardDisk Drive, or USB...
"I do not know the "Configuration of your Operating System" or the Drive: that "holds the Boot [NTLDR] files."
It may also hold the "Master Boot Record" or Boot.ini file?
"So, what you need to do is give the Drives a "Priority Boot Sequence," meaning:
"You will 'place' the Drives in the 'order' of [Bootup,First] listings."
"You will use the {Arrow buttons} to 'move the "Drives."
More than 'likely' it will be the (*Optical Drive / SATAor Hard Disk Drive}.
*Note: "Try each, and hopefully the Computer will make it to "Windows," and you can "Login!"
The next window will be the "Recovery Environment."
"Options:" Select the option, "Repair Your Computer."
"Follow 'all' the instructions carefully!"
"Please let me know if you 'need' further assistance; by posting a "Comment 'or' Rating the Solution."
Thanks, your 'response' is important!" - paul7of9

This may have happened after an update where a driver was updated that microsoft recommended but was the wrong driver turn off automatically download and install updates choose your updates wisely now to fix that driver either try to roll back the driver if you can figure out which one it was even if you have to go to safe mode to do it or try system restore to locate system restore choose start/help and support search for system restore
