Just recently purchased a Pentax Optio s5i from Australia and am having a problem with the date function. Was wondering if anybody else has had the same problem, and/or any possible solutions.
I try to set the date format to dd/mm/yyyy. I do this and then go to set the date, but the date still wants to be set as (and displays as) mm/dd/yyyy.

The camera won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers on them. Depending on the program and printer you use to print your photos, you can print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back. Please refer to the documentation for the program.
If you're printing directly from the camera, you can turn on the date stamp by checking the "Date" box as described in the "Setting the Printing Service" section in the camera manual (page106) in my copy.
