Not all routers have such a button.
Follow the instructions that came with the printer to "manually" select your wireless network, and to enter the password for your network.
First check the wireless settings of your router. You will find all the wireless settings under the wireless tab. For this you will need to access the setup page of the router by entering 192.168.1.1.
If you are using a network switch or Access Point to create wireless network, you need to access its software and turn off its firewall and if you are connecting the printer with the Bluetooth of your computer you need to turn off the firewall of your computer.
You will need to check the wireless settings of the
router is there any computer connected to the router ? If yes then you can open the router set up page on
that computer. Router set up page is the page where you can check
all the wireless settings of the router.
IS your printer wireless or it is connected to the computer. If printer is wireless then you will need to connect to the wireless network. If it is connected to the computer and you want to share the printer then you will need to enable the file and printer sharing on all the computers.
switch on your printer. then use the main terminal which will be your system to create a wirelss network connection and follow the steps in wizard. be sure to include the printer at one step.
Usually wireless routers prohibit master browser (network neighborhood) communications from traversing between the wireless and wired computers. You can usually overcome this by setting a static ip address for the computers with the printers so that they are not a moving target (addresses are always changing with DHCP). Then you can use UNC paths to get from wireless computer to your target on internal network. For example, to connect to printer (with shared name BrotherH) on a wired computer with static ip address of 192.168.0.19, on wireless computer create a network printer and manually enter the address \\192.168.0.19\BrotherH , now the wireless computer should be able to traverse and connect to the wired printer.
Your wireless router should have a pool of static ip addresses available, say 192.168.1.1-49, you can specify this to your liking, and then you can also have a block of handed out DHCP numbers, say 192.168.50-60 or whatever.
C4480 is not a wireless printer per-say.
what they mean is that if have a wirelss router you can connected it to the router and printer from any wirelss connection.
you do need a wireless source. this printer don't have one.
You can define a new WEP key by entering into your router's configuration (usually http:192.168.1.1) and then go to "Setup" and "Wireless". Here you can define a new WEP key.
