After a five or ten minute span the tv turns off. If I unplug it for a five or ten minute span it will come on again. However, it may turn off after a few minutes or it may run for hours. Always a question as to how long it will last. My tv is the 20" flat screen withiout the dvd player. Ken

Check that you have not got an auto power off setting on. Check that the aerial connections are good. That the signal is strong from the stations it is picking up. Weak signals can cause the box to shut down.
It the box is very hot when it shuts down, you might have a fault on it.
One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.
Most likely the TV is detecting an internal problem with it's circuitry and is shutting itself off to prevent further damage. You'll need to have a professional look at your set to determine exacly what's going on. Aside from leaving the power cord unplugged for five minutes, then pluggin back in and trying it again, there's nothing anyone can do from here. Sorry.
Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.
