Possible you put it in backwards

Open the battery cover, shake the Camera and HIT slowly on the hand by putting the battery side down.

Two methods: go into the setup menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions. Second method...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave the camera alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Well, it seems that this is either a manufacturing defect or a defective/sub-standard part being used in the product. It would do Sony well to address this problem immediately so that all of us Sony lovers would continue to believe in their products. If this can be solved via a firmware upgrade then I hope Sony can guide us through it.

I had to send it back to repair. It was under warranty still so no charges. You should check the warranty they will fix the vibrating problem.
